and welcome to my blog. Such an original title. There’s a tiny story behind this blog. I was perusing facebook today, as you do, and Namecheap announced that they had a new domain TLD, .day. I barely hesitated for a second! Before I could say “take my money” I had registered thisismy.day, in a hurry in case someone else decided to have it. But hah! Who snoozes loses! What to do with it though, that was the question. And it was a moment later when it occurred to me that a blog would be the thing. So here it is. A lot of waffle and nonsense about my day. The day of a 60-something woman, wife and mother, with one husband, one grown up daughter, two cats, and four hens. There may even be photos, if I can get off my backside and photograph more than just my two, very cute cats.

The photo I’ve used for the, do we call it a masthead? is of Aberystwyth from the top of Constitution Hill. We were there today, having an early and very nice Mother’s Day lunch. Tuna melt paninis with chips, coleslaw and salad, and ice cream to follow. Delicious! If you (if anyone is reading this) look at the far left of the photo you will see a tall, thin mast. That is the Blaenplwyf mast and we live on the other side of the hill it stands on. It’s about four miles from town to the hamlet we live in.

Today was not a typical day of course. Not even a typical saturday, as I tend to avoid town at the weekend. And today it was even worse. The fine weather has brought the visitors in droves. The seafront was awash with motorbikes and leathery old bikers, picnickers on the sands, and crowds wandering up and down the Prom. Which shows how much of a curmudgeonly old woman I am, though I’ve hated crowds of people since I was a child. Although I had a lovely day, I was very glad to be back in our quiet hamlet where the only noise is from sheep, birds, and someone mowing their lawn. Bliss.
